Winter Fair 2015

Winter Fair 2015

The annual Winter Fair was a great success. The children had fun playing games and jumping on the bouncy castle. There was mulled wine and great food for the adults. Santa’s grotto was a secret cabin in the woods with a group of very helpful elves leading the children to the cabin. A very big thank you to all volunteers and helpers and the sponsors of the amazing raffle!! We raised £2000.

International Evening 2015

AB9A4796

Gayhurst was filled with the sights, sounds and flavour of India at the 2015 International Evening. There was delicious Indian food cooked by our very own chef, Nicole. Entertainment was provided by the Bhavan Centre of Indian Culture, who performed some traditional Indian dancing, and to complete the evening there was a Bollywood disco.

Thank you to all the volunteers who helped make the evening such a success. We raised just over £500.

International Evening: Friday 20th November 7-9pm

This year we will be focusing on India. We want to make this a really fun evening for everyone like last years Brazilian-themed evening.
We are looking for:
– Dance and music performances from India. Please get in contact if you are part of a group or know anyone who is and who might be able to come and perform.
– Nail painters, face painters and henna painters for the evening.
– Volunteers to help set up, serve drinks and food and tidy up afterwards.
– Poster designer

Work Group Meeting: Garden and Arts Hub

COGS are organising a work group to discuss the school’s future plans for a new arts hub and the planting of the new playground. Please come along next Tuesday 6th October at 9am to meet outside the Lido café to find out more.

Over the summer the children have got a beautiful new playground. Now we want to talk about how the planting can be integrated to complete the scheme and give the children the opportunity to learn about plants.

The school has the plan to create an arts and music hub where the cake stall shelter is now. COGS would like to get everyone involved to make this happen.

It will be great to get ideas including fundraising, the new building and how to get the children and the wider community involved.
Please, contact us for any questions.
